NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame split its four dual meets Saturday at the Rolfs Aquatic Center to end the two-day Shamrock Invitational. The women’s swimming and diving team defeated Denver (253-117) and Iowa (264-104) while falling to a pair of Big Ten squads in Ohio State (197.5-166.5) and Northwestern (193.5-176.5) while celebrating its Senior Day.

The Irish (4-7) get back into the water at 1:00 p.m. (ET) next Saturday for a home meet with Ball State.

Two wins by both Kim Holden (100 back, 200 back) and Samantha Maxwell (100 breast, 200 breast) surged the Irish in its penultimate meet of the regular season.

Ohio State set a pool record in the 800 free relay in 7:22.85, bettering the previous mark cemented by Michigan in 1998.

200 Medley Relay: The tandem of Holden, Maxwell, Lauren Scott and Amy Prestinario combined for a 1:44.53, good for a second-place showing … Ohio State took the win with a 1:43.57.

400 Individual Medley: Gracie Fredlake led the Irish effort as she paced to a 4:30.99 performance, good for 12th … Hannah Points of Northwestern took the win in 4:22.77.

100 Fly: Holden took the silver, freezing the clock at 56.35 … Katie Casey and Scott rounded out the Irish in the top-10 with 56.59 and 57.73 efforts, respectively … Shannon Draves (55.91) tallied the second Ohio State win in the second session.

200 Free: Kelly Ryan (1:51.65) touched the pad for fourth place … Lauren Sylvester finished sixth with a 1:52.35 performance … Megan Detro of Ohio State took first in 1:49.78.

100 Breast: Samantha Maxwell won gold in an NCAA B-cut time of 1:02.35.

100 Back: Kim Holden picked up the second consecutive Irish victory, clocking in at 55.82 … Kelly Ryan (57.18) also notched a top-five finish, capturing fourth place.

800 Free Relay: Prestinario, Sylvester and Fredlake teamed up with Jaime Malandra to take third place with a 7:36.86 showing … Ohio State set a pool record with its NCAA B-cut of 7:22.85.

1-meter Diving: Jenny Chiang and Heidi Grossman dove to the silver and bronze medals, respectively, by posting scores of 291.80 and 290.20 … Cosima Lenz from Northwestern took the title with 297.15 points.

1,650 Free: Sylvester paced herself to a 17:09.24, good for a fourth-place finish … Baird of Ohio State took home the gold with a 16:49.40 showing.

200 Back: Holden tallied her second individual win of the invitational with a 1:59.82 performance … Ryan (2:03.34) touched the pad in seventh.

100 Free: Prestinario sprinted to a silver medal with a 50.32 … Ryan clocked in at 51.68 and registered a fifth-place finish.

200 Breast: Maxwell completed the sweep of the breaststroke events with her NCAA B-cut of 2:15.85.

200 Fly: Casey notched a third-place finish of 2:03.34 … Draves of Ohio State completed the sweep of the fly events with a 2:02.61.
