Notre Dame Earns Victories on Day 2 of Milwaukee Classic and Bayliss Invitational

In Day 2 of the fall season, Notre Dame Men’s Tennis earned numerous victories at both the Milwaukee Classic and the Bobby Bayliss Invitational.

In Milwaukee, Richard Ciamarra and Axel Nefve went 2-0 on the day, including Nefve’s win over Illinois’ Clark, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, and Ciamarra’s victory over Tennessee’s Wiedenman, 3-6, 6-1, 7-5. Guillermo Cabrera also earned a win with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Princeton’s Holden.

Back at the Eck Tennis Center, senior Conor Somers went 2-0 on the day to lead the Irish. Somers defeated Marquette’s Will Tennison, 6-2, 6-3, and then took down Nathan Balthazor of Marquette, 6-4, 6-7(3), 1-0(8). Matt Che defeated Louisville’s Daniel Fainblum, 7-6(4), 6-2. Paul Gota downed Matthew Fung of Louisville, 6-2, 3-6, 1-0(12), while Johnathan Small bested Daniel Nuzhny of Wisconsin, 2-6, 7-6(4), 1-0(2). Braeden Ho beat Cleveland State’s Raul Teichmann, 6-0, 6-3, and Wisconsin’s Daniel Nuzhny, 6-1, 6-3.

Play concludes Sunday at both the Bayliss Invitational and the Milwaukee Classic.
