NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame Athletic Department and its students-athletes hosted its annual Student-Athlete and Memorial Hospital Christmas Party on Dec. 8, 2010.
One of the most anticipated community service activities that Irish student-athletes participate in throughout the school year, this year’s events drew student-athletes from 19 different teams. More 80 children from the Hematology/Oncology Pediatric Unit at Memorial Hospital and their families attended the event.
During the evening’s festivities, the children received adidas hats and stuffed animals as Santa and his elves paid a visit to everyone there. Various stations around the Heritage Hall Concourse of the Joyce Center featured different holiday activities such as cookie and ornament decorating. Also, a competitive game of musical chairs broke out in the Monogram Room.
Notre Dame’s Office of Student Welfare and Development organized the event. Plans for next year’s annual party are already underway to make the evening even bigger and better than it was in 2010.
