No. 43 Men's Tennis Heads To Lone Star State For Two Showdowns

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The No. 43 Notre Dame men’s tennis team hits the road for Easter break as it heads to Texas for a Friday match with SMU in Dallas and a Monday showdown with No. 25 Texas A&M in College Station.

The match with the Mustangs begins at 1 p.m. (ET), while the one with the Aggies begins at 7 p.m. (ET).

Notre Dame (15-7, 2-1 BIG EAST) is coming off a 7-0 sweep of league foe DePaul at Courtney Tennis Pavilion on Wednesday and is on a three-match winning streak heading to Dallas.

The Irish have won seven of the 10 all-time matches against the Mustangs, including a 6-1 win over SMU last year and a 5-2 win in 2010. Notre Dame has lost its last two contests to the Aggies, including a 5-2 setback last year.

SMU (9-9) sports a pair of 10-plus win competitors in Gaston Cuadranti (10-7) and Arturs Kazijevs (11-4). Cuadranti plays primarily No. 1 singles, while Kazijevs plays primarily No. 3.

The Aggies (11-9) have a pair of nationally-ranked singles players in No. 29 Alexis Klegou (7-8) and No. 103 John Lewis (11-3). In doubles, Junior Ore and Jackson Withrow (11-7) are ranked No. 30, while Colin Hoover and Lewis (6-3) are ranked No. 76.

Following the trip to Texas, the Irish close out the regular season against rival Louisville at Courtney Tennis Pavilion on April 14 at 1 p.m.
