NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame men’s tennis team is back on the road after a tough loss last week to Illinois. Tomorrow, the Irish will travel to Evanston, Ill., to face a 7-2 Northwestern team.
Before last week’s loss, Notre Dame was undefeated, making the 16th-ranked Irish 6-1 on the season. The Wildcats are on a three-game winning streak and have yet to lose at home.
“We are really looking forward to competing tomorrow night,” says head coach Ryan Sachire. “Northwestern is a program that we are very familiar with, and it is a team that is off to a strong start this season. We are excited about what we know will be a really tough match.”
Indeed, Notre Dame and Northwestern have gone up against each other annually for the last several years. In their all-time series, Notre Dame is 44-37-1 against the Wildcats.
The match begins tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. (ET) at the Combe Tennis Center. Results will be posted here on UND.com following the match.
