NBC Sports Network will televise 12 Notre Dame hockey games while NBC Sports Live Extra will live stream eight others during the 2014-15 season.

NBC Sports Group To Broadcast 20 University of Notre Dame Hockey Games In 2014-15

Notre Dame, Ind. – NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra will present more than 25 college hockey games this season with the schedule featuring 20 University of Notre Dame home games – 12 games to be televised on NBCSN and an additional eight games that will be streamed live via NBC Sports Live Extra (NBCSports.com) – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices and tablets.

NBCSN’s coverage of Notre Dame’s 2014-15 college hockey schedule begins with a 7:35 p.m. on Oct. 17 when Notre Dame plays host to Lake Superior State at the Compton Family Ice Arena. The second game of the series versus Lake Superior also will be televised by NBCSN with that game beginning at 6:05 p.m. on Oct. 18.

The October home schedule includes two more televised games – University of Niagara (7:05 p.m. Oct. 25) and the first Irish Hockey East game of the season – University of Vermont (8:05 p.m. on Oct. 31). Only one home game in November will be televised by NBCSN and that contest will be against defending Hockey East champion UMass.-Lowell at 7:35 p.m. on Nov. 21.

The second half of the season will feature seven live broadcasts, starting with a non-conference game versus Western Michigan University at 6:05 p.m. on Jan. 10. The remaining schedule is made up of Hockey East games against the University of Connecticut (7:35 p.m. Jan. 16), the University of New Hampshire (6:35 p.m. Jan. 31) and the final two series of the season against Providence College (7:35 p.m. on Feb. 13/8:05 p.m. on Feb. 14) and Boston College (7:35 p.m. on Feb. 27 and 6:05 p.m. on Feb. 28).

The NBC Sports Live Extra schedule on NBCSports.com has eight games that will begin with Notre Dame hosting the Ice Breaker Tournament. Both Irish games will be streamed live – Rensselaer at 7:35 p.m. on Oct. 10 and either Minnesota or Minnesota Duluth at 3:35 p.m. on Oct. 12. Following the Ice Breaker, both games of the Shillelagh Tournament on Nov. 28-29 and games versus Niagara (Oct. 24), Vermont (Nov. 1), UMass.-Lowell (Nov. 20) and New Hamsphire (Jan. 30) also will be streamed live.

NBCSN will televise six Hockey East contests this year beginning on Nov. 17 with a clash between Boston University and Boston College. Including Notre Dame’s 12 appearances, the schedule features four appearances by Boston College, three appearances by the University of New Hampshire, two appearances each by Boston University, UMass.-Lowell, and Providence College, and one appearance by 2014 NCAA Men’s Division I champion Union College. In addition, Niagara University, the University of Maine, Dartmouth College, Western Michigan University, the University of Connecticut and the University of Massachusetts also will play games on NBCSN. In addition, one of the most storied collegiate hockey rivalries returns to NBCSN, when Yale University squares off against Harvard University for the second annual “Rivalry on Ice” from Madison Square Garden at 8 p.m. on Jan. 10.

NBC Sports Live Extra, NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets, will stream all games telecast on NBCSN. All games will be live streamed via “TV Everywhere,” the media industry’s effort to make quality content available to authenticated customers both in and out of the home and on multiple platforms.

For desktops, NBC Sports Live Extra can be accessed at NBCSports.com/liveextra. The NBC Sports Live Extra app for mobile devices and tablets is available at the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, and on select Android handset and tablet devices within Google Play.

NBCSN will live stream to PCs, mobile devices and tablets through NBC Sports Live Extra, and to the digital platforms of participating cable, satellite, and telco services, via “TV Everywhere,” which is available on an authenticated basis to subscribers of participating MVPDs.
