Chicago, Ill. – “Where the Stars Come Out to Teach You” is the theme of Intersport’s inaugural girls basketball camp scheduled to begin this summer at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The camp for girls entering grades 6-12 during the upcoming 2002-03 school year whill be supervised by women’s basketball pioneer Nancy Lieberman and two of the top coaches of women’s college programs – Notre Dame’s Muffet McGraw and Purdue’s Kristy Curry.

A legendary figure in the world of women’s basketball, Lieberman is a former Olympian, college Player of the Year, Women’s Professional Basketball League veteran, and WNBA Coach. Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in 1996, she is a respected commentator on both ESPN and NBC, having worked for nearly every major network over the past 17 years.

McGraw, who guided Notre Dame to the 2001 NCAA National Championship behind player of the year Ruth Riley, enters her 16th season next fall as head coach of the Irish.

Purdue’s Curry, with a three year record of 78-24, was a finalist for National Coach of the Year in 2001. Her Boilermakers were runner-up to Notre Dame in last year’s National Championship.

Personalized instruction to all campers combined with the scenic atmosphere of Carthage College’s new $21 million TARC Center on the banks of Lake Michigan should make for a once-in-a lifetime experience. Typical days will include stations for individual drills, demonstrations, league games, team practice, and open workouts. Each camper will receive a full written evaluation outlining strengths, weaknesses, and suggestions at the conclusion of the camp
