Aug 14, 2013

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – We’re less than three weeks away from the start of football season, and the Monogram Club is excited to announce its 2013 Fall Schedule.

During each home football Saturday, the Club will host its usual pre-game reception and post-game Mass. Both events will be held in the Monogram Room, with the reception beginning three hours prior to kickoff, and Mass beginning 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game. All dues-paying Monogram winners are invited to bring up to five guests to enjoy the complimentary tailgate food and a cash bar. Following each football contest, all Monogram winners are welcome to attend the Club’s post-game Mass.

Additionally, each Monogram Club football weekend will include a Friday night reception for all dues-paying football Monogram winners and senior football managers at 7:00 p.m. in the Schivarelli Football Players’ Lounge at Notre Dame Stadium. Individuals can bring up to four guests to the event.

New in 2013, the Monogram Club invites all dues-paying young alumni (Monogram winners that graduated between 2003-13) and one guest to the Friday evening reception on Aug. 30, the eve of the season opener against Temple. Once again this season, dues-paying Monogram winners will have the opportunity to form an on-field tunnel to welcome the football team into Notre Dame Stadium. Football Monogram winners and senior football managers will form the tunnel prior to the Oklahoma game on Sept. 28, while dues-paying Monogram winners from all other sports and programs will gather before the Navy game on Nov. 2.

In addition to these regular activities, the Club will sponsor a number of special events throughout the 2013 season. During the Michigan State football weekend, the Monogram Club will host members of the 1973 national championship team to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their 11-0 season. The reunion will run from Sept. 20-21, and includes a Friday dinner and recognition on the field before kickoff against the Spartans.

The following weekend, members of the 1957 Fighting Irish squad that snapped Oklahoma’s 47-game winning streak will return for a reunion, coinciding with this season’s game versus the Sooners.

Notre Dame’s last national championship football team, the 1988 squad, will celebrate a 25-year reunion during the USC football weekend on Oct. 18-19. The weekend feature several events, including a Friday dinner, Saturday afternoon tailgate, and pregame recognition on the field.

During Navy weekend (Nov. 1-2), the fencing program will host a reunion for all team alumni. The weekend will be an opportunity to visit with former team members, tour the Castellan Family Fencing Center and meet with the coaches and current team.

In addition to on-campus events, the Club will also host a regional reception in Ft. Worth, in conjunction with the Shamrock Series game against Arizona State on Oct. 5 at Cowboys Stadium. The Monogram Club reception will be held on Friday, Oct. 4 at The Flying Saucer from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Dues-paying Monogram members will receive an invitation and opportunity to RSVP for this event in the near future.
