Miller Named BIG EAST Softball Player Of The Week

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Senior All-American Dani Miller was selected as the BIG EAST Conference Softball Player of the Week, it was announced Monday afternoon by the league. Miller led Notre Dame to a 3-1 record last weekend at the Carolina Classic in Chapel Hill, N.C. The showing included a pair of wins over No. 24 North Carolina.

Miller batted .500 (7-for-14) and recorded two home runs – including a grand slam against North Carolina – along with eight RBI and scored and three runs. Defensively, she did not commit a single error and extended her streak of games without a fault to 70 (243 chances dating back to 2010).

The Huntington Beach, Calif., native leads the Irish (4-5) this season in batting average (.438), slugging pct. (.867), home runs (4) and RBI (14).

Miller also was named to the Carolina Classic all-tournament team along with classmate Alexa Maldonado.
