COLUMBUS, Ohio – Day two of the Ohio State Invitational at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion was marked by steady performances across the board for the Notre Dame men’s swimming and diving team Saturday. The Irish sit in fourth place with 243 points.

The host Buckeyes totaled 906.5 points in front of Minnesota (596.5) and Penn State (432).

The event resumes Sunday morning with the final heats to follow later in the afternoon.

200 Medley Relay: Mitchell Sherman, Brian Maloy, Patrick Augustyn and John Lytle orchestrated a six-place finish in 1:32.29.

400 Individual Medley: The first Irish swimmer to break the barrier was Michael Sullivan … he did so in 3:56.80 after going 3:57.51 in the prelims.

100 Fly: Augustyn paced the Irish attack with times of 49.70 and 51.02 … MacKenzie LeBlanc posted marks of 50.64 and 51.11.

200 Free: Danny Lutkus’ best time of the day 1:40.17, was just ahead of Steven Brus (1:40.22) … Andrew Hoffman cleared the field in 1:39.82 during the prelims with a 1:41.01 in the finals.

100 Breast: Daniel Rave was 15th overall after clocking a pair of 57.52 performances … Maloy went 57.56 and 59.22 for 16th.

100 Back: Sherman shaved a bit off his prelim time (50.63) with a 50.62 later in the evening … Joshua Nosal had sprints of 51.10 and 51.19.

800 Free Relay: A six-place effort with a time of 6:40.14 came from Hoffman, Lutkus, Lytle and Brus.

3-meter Diving: Eric Lex was 12th overall (307.05) … Wesley Villaflor (296.80) was 14th and Nathan Geary (267.00) was 15th.
