NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Ohio State’s Brian Fleas scored two goals to lead the Buckeyes to a 2-1 victory at Note Dame’s Alumni Field in an exhibition game for both teams.

Feldhaus, who scored a goal in each half, netted the Buckeyes’ first score on an assist from Tony Monroe at 35:24. He then tallied the contest’s second score off a Roger Roush feed 3:57 into the second half.

Notre Dame’s lone goal of the game was scored by freshman Shane Walton off an Andrew Aris assist at the 75:17 mark.

Ohio State controlled the game in the first half, outshooting the Irish 9-3. Notre Dame was more aggressive in the second half and owned a 10-5 shot advantage in the final 45-minute stanza. The Irish had several scoring chances in the second half, but just couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities.

Notre Dame goalkeeper Greg Velho made six saves in the game and saved at least two other Buckeye scoring chances with his fine play in goal.

The Irish will play a second exhibition game next Friday, August 28 at home against DePaul at 7:30 p.m. before opening up the season at Alumni Field on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:30 p.m. versus Valparaiso.

Admission to the exhibition game against DePaul is free and open to the public.
