Mabrey Earns ACC Player of the Week

First ACC POTW honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Notre Dame senior guard Dara Mabrey finally checked off an award bucket list item – Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week. The New Jersey native had a week to remember, spearheading the Fighting Irish to back-to-back wins over Wake Forest and No. 21 North Carolina. Mabrey produced back-to-back season highs in points, averaging 23.0 ppg, while totaling nine three-pointers.

Mabrey started with a season high, and game high, 22 points in a 74-64 win on the road at Wake Forest. She went 7-of-8 from the free-throw line as well. Three days later, Mabrey one-upped herself, going for 24 points in a ranked win over the Tar Heels. Mabrey connected on a season best six made three-pointers. All-in-all she was 9-for-21 (.429) from deep on the week.

This week also marked just the second time in Mabrey’s career in which she’s produced back-to-back 20-plus point performances.

Mabrey and the rest of the Fighting Irish return to action this Thursday at Boston College.
