ANN ARBOR, Mich. – One University of Notre Dame men’s tennis play remains in play as singles play advances at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships at Michigan’s Varsity Tennis Center.

Alex Lebedev, Guillermo Cabrera, Daniel Rayl and Grayson Broadus each advanced out of the first round Saturday, but only Lebedev remains in contention after two rounds. The Irish junior, who earlier this month advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA All-American Championships, defeated Michigan’s Harrison Brown 6-4, 6-4, and Ohio State’s Riley Reist 6-3, 7-6(7).

Lebedev is now 5-2 on the season and will face Illinois’ Zeke Clark on Sunday.

In doubles, Lebedev and freshman partner William Howells fell in the quarterfinal to Ohio State’s Matt Mendez and Hunter Tubert.

Play will resume at 10 a.m. ET Sunday.
