NOTRE DAME, Ind. – University of Notre Dame athletics director Kevin White will be one of five prominent figures in intercollegiate athletics who will take part in the sixth annual Intercollegiate Athletics Forum Dec. 5 in New York City.

The topic for the 2007 forum is “The State of Intercollegiate Athletics: A Culture in Flux.” The forum will include debate on various challenges facing on-campus decisions-makers, including unprecedented academic guidelines, eligibility issues, recruiting and paying top coaches, minority hiring, and shrinking athletics budgets.

The forum will be held at the Intercontinental, The Barclay in New York City.

Joining White on the forum panel will be NCAA president Myles Brand, Clemson University president James Barker, University of Oregon professor of biology Nathan Tublitz, and Richard Lapchick, president of the National Consortium for Academics and Sport at the University of Central Florida.

The forum is designed to serve as a platform for stakeholders in college sports to examine and openly debate the issues listed above and many more. In the opening roundtable, the five panelists will discuss and debate various pressing issues and offer their vision for the future.
