NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s tennis team wrapped up its second day of competition on Saturday at three tournaments around the country.
At the Oracle/ITA Masters in Malibu, California, fifth-ranked Quentin Monaghan fell to No. 2 Ryan Shane of Virginia in the first round of consolation play. Monaghan won the first set, but dropped the next two in a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 loss.
In doubles, Monaghan and partner Alex Lawson fell in semifinal action to Pepperdine’s Guilherme Hadlich and Gabriel Sidney, 6-4, 7-5.
Elsewhere, Eddy Covalschi and Kenneth Sabacinski claimed third place in their doubles draw at the Duke James Bonk Invitational, defeating Simon Norenius and Nick Horton of NC State, 8-5.
