EVANSTON, Ill. – After the first session of competition, the Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team trails both Northwestern and No. 16 Wisconsin in the tri-dual meet competition at Norris Pool in Evanston, Ill. The Wildcats lead the Irish, 71-39, while the Badgers lead Notre Dame 70-40. The competition continues tomorrow with two more sessions of swimming and diving, leaving the Irish with time to comeback in the meet.

Amywren Miller led Notre Dame in the pool, taking second in the 50 freestyle. Miller has lead the Irish this season in the 50 free, and set a new season best of 23.36.

On the boards, the Irish dominated in the 3-meter diving, taking spots two through five in the competition. Natalie Stitt led off the team with a second-place finish and a score of 294.40. Heidi Grossman, Tara Hyer and Laura Rings followed behind with respective scores of 278.80, 267.10, and 262.55.

Competition resumes tomorrow with the second session of swimming at 10 a.m. The final session starts at 5 p.m.
