Irish Softball Hitting Academy To Be Held Oct. 28-Nov. 19

Sept. 18, 2013

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame softball team will hold its annual Irish Softball Hitting Academy Oct. 28 through Nov. 19 at the indoor baseball batting cages at Notre Dame’s Frank Eck Stadium.

The Irish Softball Hitting Academy will be the second instructional opportunity hosted by the Notre Dame softball team during the month of October, following the team’s annual fall clinic Oct. 6 at Melissa Cook Stadium.

Notre Dame associate coaches Kris Ganeff and Lizzy Lemire, members of the 2011 and 2013 BIG EAST Conference Coaching Staff of the Year, along with select Irish players will lead the hitting academy designed for athletes looking to improve their offensive skills and drill development during the offseason. Players will receive three separate two-hour hitting sessions at the Eck Stadium indoor batting cages.

Sessions will be offered for players in grades three through eight on Monday nights, running Oct. 28, Nov. 4 and Nov. 18. Players in grades nine through 12 will take part in Tuesday night instructional periods on Oct. 29, Nov. 5 and Nov. 19. All sessions are scheduled for 7-9 p.m. each night of the academy. All registered players are required to bring their own bat and helmet to each session, and sessions are limited to 25 players per night.

The cost is $200.00 per player for the entire three-week academy schedule. Payment must be made in full, and there will be no refunds issued after a spot is reserved due to the limited amount of participants allowed to register for each session.
