Irish Season Ends In Second Round Of ACC Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Notre Dame’s season came to a close on Wednesday evening in the second round of the ACC Tournament, falling to North Carolina by a final score of 101-59.

Prentiss Hubb and Nate Laszweski each scored 13 points to lead the Irish in scoring and Juwan Durham added 10 on the night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Irish trailed by three at 17-14 after the opening eight minutes of action before the Tar Heels reeled off nine straight points to push its advantage to 12 with nine minutes left in the half. The two teams traded baskets the rest of the half with UNC leading 50-36 at the halftime break.

The Irish trailed by 12 at 59-47 with 15 minutes left in regulation and had a possession to cut the deficit to 10 or less but were unable to capitalize. After that it was all North Carolina, who went on to win by a final score of 101-59.
