NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The 25th-ranked Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team travels to Northwestern on Saturday for a tri-meet with the host Wildcats and Toledo. Fresh off their winter training trip in The Bahamas, the Irish will be in action for the first time since the three-day Ohio State Invitational (Dec. 5-7) that saw sophomore Samantha Maxwell set a pair of school records in each of the breaststroke events.

The second half of the 2008-09 slate will begin at 10 a.m. (CT) at the Norris Aquatics Center in Evanston, Ill., with the meet’s preliminary session. The latter half of the meet kicks off at 5 p.m.

The morning session will consist of the 400 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay, 500 Free, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 100 Fly, 200 Back and 400 Individual Medley. In the afternoon, the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays will be held in addition to the 200 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 50 Free, 100 Back, 1,650 Free and 200 Individual Medley. Both the morning and evening sessions will include diving events.

Notre Dame is 2-0 in dual meets with early-season wins over Purdue and Pittsburgh. The Irish hope to redeem losses to both Northwestern and Toledo during the 2007-08 campaign.
