ALBANY, N.Y. — After advancing to the Sweet 16 for the third time in as many years and the 20th time in program history, No. 2 Notre Dame (28-6) will play No. 3 Oregon State (26-7) on Friday with a trip to the Elite 8 on the line.

Freshman Hannah Hidalgo is set to play her first NCAA Tournament game away from home after averaging 16.5 points, 7.5 assists and 5 steals per game in the first two rounds. Maddy Westbeld and Sonia Citron were equally huge contributors for the Irish against Kent State and Ole Miss. Westbeld dropped 20 against the Rebels on Monday, while Citron tied a career-high with 29 points against the Golden Flashes. Citron added her first double-double of the season in Monday’s game, dropping 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists.

Oregon State prides itself on its post play and is led in that area by Reagan Beers. The 6-4 forward averages 17.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. She leads the nation with a 66.3 field goal percentage, contributing to the Beavers’ 21st-ranked field goal percentage as a team (46.3).

Oregon State also averages 25 bench points a game, which ranks 22nd in the nation. Sophomore Timea Gardiner was named the Pac-12 Sixth Player of the Year after averaging 11.4 points per contest and shooting 40 percent from deep.

Notre Dame is 5-0 against Oregon State all-time, and the teams last met in 2021. Friday’s game tips off on ESPN at 2:30 p.m. It is the fourth-consecutive ESPN game for the Irish and the sixth in the last eight contests.
