NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Incoming University of Notre Dame softball freshman pitchers Alexis Holloway and Morgan Ryan were each selected to Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) Regional All-America teams earlier this month. Holloway, from Crown Point, was named to the PGF Central Region All-America squad, while Ryan, a native of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, earned Northeast Region All-America accolades.

PGF All-America teams are selected by a national panel that includes representatives from OnDeck Softball, FloSoftball and USA Today. The East and West rosters for the 2017 PGF High School All-American Game, to be held on July 28 in Irvine, California, will be announced during the upcoming NCAA Women’s College World Series.

A four-year standout for Crown Point High School, Holloway has enjoyed a scintillating senior season in the circle. The top-rated national pitching prospect in the Class of 2017 according to the FloSoftball Hot 100 Rankings (No. 2 overall player), Holloway compiled a 15-1 record with a career-low 0.27 ERA in a career-high 130.1 innings pitched as of May 29. She has added three saves in her 23 pitching appearances, walking 11 while striking out 224 batters.

Ryan recently led Hempfield Area Senior High School to the final round of the WPIAL Class 6A softball tournament to bookend her senior campaign. The career leader in pitching wins, innings pitched, home runs and RBI at Hempfield, Ryan has helped guide her team to an unblemished 22-0 record and its Class 6A state championship game appearance later this week. She is the reigning Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Player of the Year after playing a key role in Hempfield’s state championship victory as a junior in 2016.
