FLUSHING, N.Y. – The 28th-ranked University of Notre Dame women’s tennis doubles pair of Quinn Gleason and Monica Robinson fell in the Round of 32 on Thursday at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
The Irish duo dropped the first set to Barry University’s Linda Fritschken and Emma Onila 6-4, but battled back to take a 4-3 lead in the second. They couldn’t hold, though, and lost the second set 7-5.
The rest of the Notre Dame women’s tennis squad will compete this weekend at the Western Michigan Super Challenge at the West Hills Athletic Club in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The action starts at 10 a.m. ET Friday and continues through Sunday. Stay tuned to UND.com, Twitter and Facebook for updates.
