Irish Move Kent State Mid-Week Series To Coveleski Stadium, U.S. Steel Yard

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame baseball team was originally scheduled to play host to 2012 College World Series participant Kent State at Frank Eck Stadium on Mar. 25-26, but the mid-week series has been relocated to Coveleski Stadium in South Bend and the U.S. Steel Yard in Gary. The Irish and Golden Flashes will meet at 12:30 p.m. ET Monday at Coveleski Stadium before returning to action at 5:35 p.m. CT Tuesday at the U.S. Steel Yard.

Notre Dame owns an 8-7 series edge over Kent State, including a 6-3 mark at home. The two teams split the first 12 meetings in the series between 1959-68. The Irish and Golden Flashes then split a pair of meetings in the 2004 NCAA South Bend Regional. Notre Dame captured the most recent tilt, 2-0, on Mar. 13, 2011 in Conway, S.C.
