Irish Men's Basketball Finishes 2008 Fall Semester With Impressive Team Grade Point Average

NOTRE DAME, ind. – The Notre Dame men’s basketball team earned a 3.151 grade point average during the 2008 fall semester. It marked the eighth time in 10 semesters the Irish squad had a GPA of 3.000 and above.

Following the completion of the ’08 fall semester, Notre Dame’s cumulative GPA was a 3.093 that signaled the ninth consecutive semester with a cumulative team grade point average above 3.000.

Senior Zach Hillesland (Toledo, Ohio), a marketing major in the Mendoza College of Business, earned a 3.917 GPA for the fall semester and owns a 3.532 grade point average overall. Senior Luke Zeller (Washington, Ind.), also a senior in the Mendoza College of Business with a major in management entrepreneurship, had a 3.833 GPA in the fall and has a 3.514 overall following seven semesters. Sophomore Tim Abromaitis (Unionville, Conn.), enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business, had a 3.688 grade point average in the fall.

Last season, Notre Dame won the BIG EAST Team Academic Award in 2007-08 after finishing with a team grade point average of 3.097.
