FOR STARTERS

  • With this weekend’s matchups against the third-ranked Buckeyes, the Irish are set to take on a top-five opponent in three consecutive matches after playing #1 Texas last Sunday in Austin.
  • A win this weekend would be the third top-five victory in program history and would match Notre Dame’s best win in program history in terms of opponent ranking (W vs. #3 Nebraska on 9.25.93).
  • Notre Dame snapped a three-match losing streak with a five-set triumph over Arizona last Saturday before falling in four sets to top-ranked Texas on Sunday.
  • In that matchup with the Longhorns, the Irish became just the third team to take a set from Texas this season and nearly forced a fifth-set with a 27-29 setback in set four.

HISTORY VS. OHIO STATE

  • The Irish and Buckeyes have met on 12 previous occasions with Ohio State owning an 8-4 edge in the all-time series.
