Projected top-25 matchup for Dec. 1, inside Purcell Pavilion

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) — Two premier women’s basketball programs will clash in the 2022 ACC/B1G Challenge when Notre Dame hosts Maryland inside Purcell Pavilion on Dec. 1. It’ll mark the 10th meeting between the two storied programs, with the Irish holding a slight 5-4 series lead. The last time these two met on the hardwood was back on Dec. 3, 2014, when the Irish won 92-72.
Since joining the ACC in 2013, the Fighting Irish are 7-1 in the Challenge. Last year, Notre Dame invaded East Lansing and handed Michigan State a 76-71 defeat. The Irish also boast victories in the Challenge over Iowa (2x), Michigan, Ohio State, Maryland and Penn State.

This coming season will mark the 15th ACC/B1G Women’s Basketball Challenge, taking place over two days starting on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Game times, as well as television and streaming coverage, will be announced at a later date. All ACC home games in the Challenge will be shown on either ACC Network (ACCN), ACC Network Extra (ACCNX), an ESPN network or the ACC’s Regional Sports Networks (RSN), while Big Ten home games will appear on either Big Ten Network, Big Ten Network+ or an ESPN network.
