Irish Hockey Posts Perfect APR Score

SOUTH BEND, Ind.  – The University of Notre Dame hockey team posted a perfect Academic Progress Rate (APR) of 1,000 in the most recent data set released earlier this month by the NCAA.

The Fighting Irish were one of eight NCAA Division I men’s hockey programs to post a 1,000 and it marked the third time since the APR was first released in which the Irish had a perfect score (2004-05 & 2010-11).

Notre Dame hockey has posted at least a 987 in the 16 sets of APR data releases, with an impressive average of 995.

The APR was created in 2003 to measure the academic progress of student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term. Programs are also rewarded for students who return to school to complete their degrees.
