DENVER — After a spirited workout and pep rally sendoff at the Joyce Center on Tuesday, the Notre Dame hockey team boarded a charter plane for the 2 1/2-hour flight to Denver for the 2008 NCAA Frozen Four, which begins Thursday night when the Irish take on Michigan at the Pepsi Center.

Upon arrival at the team hotel in downtown Denver, the Notre Dame contingent grabbed a late dinner and then headed off to bed with a full day of activities planned for Wednesday. The Irish will have numerous media obligations, from meetings with the ESPN broadcast crew (including Gary Thorne and “Chicken Parm” Ray Ferraro) to the traditional press conference in front of other local and national college hockey reporters. In addition, Notre Dame will hold a practice session at the Pepsi Center during the afternoon.

UND.com is your home for the most complete coverage of Notre Dame in the NCAA Frozen Four. In addition to daily written reports, photo galleries and press conference transcripts, Fighting Irish All-Access will give fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Irish as they prepare for their first trip to college hockey’s biggest stage. Among the features scheduled to air on UND.com this week from Denver are interviews with Notre Dame players and coaches, as well as a in-depth look at Thursday’s game vs. Michigan with “The Voice of the Fighting Irish” Mike Lockert and Notre Dame assistant sports information director Chris Masters.
