NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The third edition of the University of Notre Dame Softball Elite Team Camp is set for Jan. 27, 2018 from 5-9 p.m. (ET) inside the Loftus Sports Center. After debuting in 2016, the Notre Dame Softball Elite Team Camp has become a fixture of the annual Irish winter clinic weekend that will also feature the Irish Hitting Institute and Elite Irish Practice clinic sessions on Jan. 28 on the Notre Dame campus.
Participants in the Irish elite team camp will be assigned to one of four teams and take part in a Notre Dame softball skills practice. Players will have the opportunity to engage extensively with the Irish coaching staff during the skills practice period. Following the practice session, each team will take part in two games as part of the camp schedule.
Players in grades six through 12 are welcome to register for the Notre Dame Softball Team Elite Camp, and the total cost is $250 per player. The elite camp is limited to the first 48 players to register, and is expected to sell out.
Elite Irish Practice is set for 8-10:30 a.m. on Jan. 28 inside the Loftus Sports Center. Participants in grades four through 12 are encouraged to register for this session, which will feature the same defensive drills and instruction seen during a typical day of Notre Dame softball practice. The cost of the camp session is $175 per player, and is limited to the first 48 participants to register. This session is expected to sell out.
A separate afternoon clinic offering, the Irish Hitting Institute, will follow from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. inside the indoor batting cages at Frank Eck Baseball Stadium. Registered participants in grades four through 12 will learn the ins and outs of how to be a successful collegiate hitter from the Notre Dame softball program. The cost of the two-hour camp session is $125 per player, and is limited to the first 40 participants to register. This session is also expected to sell out.
