Irish Earn 15th NCAA Tournament Berth

SOUTH BEND, IND. – For the 15th time in program history the Irish women’s lacrosse team has earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. 

The Irish will open play against Michigan in the first round this Friday, May 13 at 8 p.m. at Martin Stadium on the campus of Northwestern University. The Irish and Wolverines are joined in Evanston by Central Michigan and Northwestern, who will meet on Friday at 5 p.m. ET. 

The winners of those two matchups will meet in the second round with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line. For a complete tournament bracket, click here.

Notre Dame and Michigan will be meeting for the second time this season, and fifth time overall. Notre Dame finished their regular season 9-9 knocking off four top-25 opponents including Virginia, Yale, Jacksonville, and Duke. The Irish enter the NCAA Tournament ranked fifteenth in the IWLCA/IL Women Poll.
