Irish Complete Fall Schedule At Lakewood Ranch, Western Michigan Tournaments

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team wraps up its fall schedule this weekend, with select Fighting Irish players competing at the Lakewood Ranch Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic and the Western Michigan University Super Challenge.

No. 98 Britney Sanders (Ontario, Calif.) and Julie Sabacinski (Plantation, Fla.) are entered into the main draw at the Lakewood Ranch Classic, with play set to begin Friday at 9 a.m. in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. Sanders will square off with Tennessee’s Tiffany Tavares, while Sabacinski is set to meet Jesse Grace, also of Tennessee.

Other Notre Dame team members are entered into both the singles and doubles draw of the WMU Super Challenge at the Sorenson Courts in Kalamazoo, Mich.

No. 106 Jennifer Kellner (Smithtown, N.Y.) drew Bowling Green’s (Ohio) Nikki Chiricosta in the first singles bracket; freshman Quinn Gleason (Mendon, N.Y.) takes on Ksenia Pronina of Iowa State in the no. 2 singles bracket; senior Chrissie McGaffigan (Davenport, Iowa) matches up with Western Michigan’s Nini Sujashvili in draw three; sophomore Molly O’Koniewski (Hilton Head, S.C.) faces Maddy Eccleston of Bowling Green in the fourth singles draw; sophomore Katherine White (Columbus, Ga.) and Rocio Diaz of Marquette square off in the fifth bracket; junior JoHanna Manningham (Mishawaka, Ind.) meets Caroline Hauge Andersen (Iowa State) in the sixth draw; and freshman Darby Mountford (Granger, Ind.) makes her first appearance with the Fighting Irish against Western Michigan’s Kelsey King in the seventh singles draw.

The teams of Kellner/McGaffigan, Gleason/White and O’Koniewski/Manningham will also participate in three of the event’s doubles draws.
