Irish Clinch ACC Atlantic Division

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Following losses by Louisville and Florida State, the fourth-ranked Notre Dame baseball team clinched the ACC Atlantic Division title Saturday evening.

It is the first time since joining the ACC in 2014 that the Irish won a division championship and it is the first regular season conference title since the 2006 season when the Irish were in the BIG EAST.

Heading into the weekend the Irish led the league with 22 conference wins this season and have won nine ACC series, the most by any team this season. The 22 conference wins are the most in a single season since they had 22 back in 2001 in the BIG EAST.

With the division championship clinched, the Irish secured a top-two seed in the upcoming ACC Championship in Charlotte. Notre Dame will finish the regular season conference slate on Thursday, May 20 when it travels to Blacksburg for a three-game series against Virginia Tech.
