NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s lacrosse program and Baumer Family Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Kevin Corrigan released the 2021 schedule, a 10-game slate that features seven games at Arlotta Stadium and Loftus Sports Center.
The Irish enter the season ranked in the top 10 again, earning the No. 8 ranking from Inside Lacrosse and the No. 10 ranking from the US Lacrosse Magazine preseason polls
The Irish have reached 14 consecutive NCAA Championships and have played in nine of the last 10 quarterfinals entering the 2021 season. Notre Dame is set to return six of its top eight returning goal scorers from last season and two of its three starting defensemen and goalie.
HOME SWEET HOME TO START THE YEAR
The first five games of the 2021 slate will be played at Notre Dame. The Irish open the campaign against Robert Morris on Saturday, Feb. 27 on ACCN and then proceed to play Bellarmine (3/6), Marquette (3/17) and Cleveland State (3/20) to round out the non-conference slate.
ACC SLATE
The Irish open conference play with Virginia in the only meeting between the two sides on March 27 at Arlotta Stadium. Notre Dame then hits the road for the first time of the season to take on Syracuse (4/3) in the Carrier Dome before returning home to host Duke (4/10).
The Irish then make the return trip to face the Blue Devils (4/22) at Koskinen Stadium before completing the Tobacco Road trip with a showdown with North Carolina (4/25). Notre Dame closes the regular season by hosting Syracuse (5/1) at Arlotta Stadium.
TOURNEY TIME
Due to COVID-19 there will be no ACC tourney this season, instead the league expanded to from four to six regular season games.
