Irish Add Detroit Mercy Game On Sunday, December 6

The University of Notre Dame men’s basketball program has added Detroit Mercy to its 2020-21 basketball schedule on Sunday, December 6, with tip off in Purcell Pavilion set for 7 p.m. ET. Broadcast details for the contests are still to be determined.

The Irish and Titans agreed to the game on Thursday, December 3, after Notre Dame lost its two previous scheduled home openers due to roster limitations on the opposing teams. Western Michigan was scheduled to visit December 2, while Purdue Fort Wayne was set for December 5.

Detroit Mercy will be making its second consecutive trip to Purcell Pavilion, after the Irish earned a 110-71 victory over the Titans on December 10, 2019. It will be the 55th meeting between the two games and the series dates back to 1912. Notre Dame is 42-12 all-time against Detroit Mercy and 20-4 at home.
