Incoming Freshmen Duo Selected To Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame women’s lacrosse incoming freshmen Stephanie Peragallo and Stephanie Toy have been selected to the seventh annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic that will be played on Saturday, June 30 at Towson University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md., Under Armour, Inc. and Corrigan Sports Enterprises, Inc., announced recently.

The duo will be on opposite teams, as Peragallo is on the North team, while Toy is on the South team. Each is one of only 22 players selected to their respective teams.

Peragallo, a defender from Hauppauge, N.Y., played four years for Hauppauge High School, where she was named the No. 2 defender in the nation for the class of 2012 by ESPN Rise. Hauppauge currently has a record of 16-2 and is ranked sixth in the state. The state tournament will take place in two weeks.

Toy, a defender from Moorestown, N.J., has played all four years for Moorestown High School. Through 22 games in 2012, Toy has scored 73 goals and dished out 48 assists, while collecting 44 ground balls. In her career she has 239 goals, 137 assists and 201 ground balls.

Toy and No. 1 seed Moorestown play in round four of the South Group three bracket of the 2012 NJSIAA Tournament on Thursday against No. 2 seed Shawnee. Moorestown has defeated its first three opponents thus far by a total score of 59-5.

Under Armour All-Americans are selected by a panel of lacrosse experts from Inside Lacrosse Magazine. The year-long process includes input from college and high school coaches from across the country as well as nominations from the public.
