SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Notre Dame ice hockey squad ran its record to a perfect 5-0-0 as the Irish defeated Lake Superior 4-3 this evening. Dan Carlson had a career-best three assist night in the victory. Ben Simon scored the final goal for the Irish, giving him points in all five Notre Dame contests this season.

The win streak is the first five-game streak for the Irish since 1991-92, and their first as a team in CCHA or WCHA play since 1981-82. The Irish have taken advantage of an awesome season powerplay percentage of 39% (11-for-28) thus far this year.
