Aug. 26, 2010

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Kristy Frilling (Sidney, Ohio) and Kali Krisik (Arkansas City, Kan.) have been named to the 2009-10 ITA Collegiate All-Star Team, it was announced by Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Thursday. Frilling makes the team for her second consecutive year.

Last season Frilling, along with her doubles partner Kelcy Tefft, were recognized by the ITA for their accomplishments. This season Frilling again earned the honor, along with Krisik, after finishing as the second-ranked doubles tandem in the nation according to the Campbell/ITA Rankings.

This is the 27th edition of the ITA Collegiate All-Star Team, which includes the nation’s top-ranked men’s and women’s tennis players from the season-ending Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings at the NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and NJCAA levels, as well as champions from the 2009 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships and 2010 NCAA Championships.

The Irish duo rounded out the season with a 34-3 record, including posting a perfect slate on the dual season at 25-0 which all came at the No. 1 position. The team was 19-3 against nationally ranked opponents and concluded the year ranked second in the nation. That matched the highest final season ranking – previously set by Frilling and Tefft in ’09 – in the program’s history.
