Senior Quentin Monaghan

Four Headed To Oracle/ITA Masters

Aug. 26, 2015

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The field for next month’s Oracle/ITA Masters tournament has been set and will feature four University of Notre Dame men’s tennis student-athletes in singles and doubles play. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the field Tuesday.

As announced in June, All-American Quentin Monaghan will take part in the 16-player singles field as one of six players that ended the 2014-15 season ranked in the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings top 15, closing out the year at No. 7 after making a run to the semifinals of the NCAA Singles Championship.

Monaghan will also play in the eight-team doubles draw with partner Alex Lawson as the wild card entry, while teammates Josh Hagar and Eddy Covalschi, who finished last season ranked No. 35 will also take part in the competition. The Irish are the only program with two doubles teams represented in the field.

The inaugural Oracle/ITA Masters marks the first national collegiate championship of the 2015-16 season. The event will take place September 18-20 at the Malibu Racquet Club in Malibu, California, with Pepperdine University helping to facilitate the championships and serving as an official event partner.

Tournament pairings for all draws will be announced in the coming weeks.
