On another beautiful spring day in Northern Indiana, the Notre Dame football team worked through its eighth spring practice. Irish head coach Tyrone Willingham was asked about his special team preparation with the Blue and Gold Scrimmage 11 days away.

“We work on some facet (of special teams) every day,” Willingham said during his post-practice media session.

“That is important to us. You need to have good special teams if you are going to be a good football team. We like the ingredients we have. We think our kicker is strong and our punter is good. That is a good start for us. Now, we have to add the final points to it by getting our guy’s technique sound and aggressive. We want to be one of those special teams that is very aggressive and on the offensive.”
