SOUTH BEND, Ind.  – University of Notre Dame head coach Jeff Jackson has announced Finlay Williams, currently with the Penticton Vees of the BCHL, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Fighting Irish.

Williams, a 6-1, 185-pound forward, hails from North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He has played the last two seasons with Penticton while playing the previous season (2019-20) with the Prince George Spruce Kings, also of the BCHL. He originally joined the Spruce Kings for four games during the 2018-19 season, when he also played for the Burnaby Winter Club Prep (CSSHL U-18).

Williams skated in 27 regular-season games this past season, scoring 12 goals and adding 25 assists for 37 points. He notched three power-play goals, two game winners and a shorthanded tally as well. Though injured for the second half of the season, his 37 points tied for fifth on the team.

Williams served as a team captain each of the past two seasons for the Vees. He averaged an impressive 1.37 points per game this season, which ranked 10th in the BCHL and second on Penticton. The Vees went 43-8-3 to claim the regular-season championship and have advanced to the conference finals.
