Fighting Irish Fan Chat - Sept. 29 ARCHIVE

Sept. 27, 2010

UND.com is debuting another of its new interactive features for the 2010-11 season, with its weekly Fighting Irish Fan Chats. Each Wednesday afternoon, UND.com will sit down for a live chat session with student-athletes, coaches and administrators making news in the world of Fighting Irish athletics. Fans are invited to join in and offer questions or comments for our guests, and if you can’t join us live, each chat will be archived so you can return to UND.com at your convenience and read what your favorite Notre Dame athletic personalities have to say on a variety of topics.

Our fifth Fighting Irish Fan Chat took place on Wednesday, Sept. 29, as Notre Dame women’s golf coach Susan Holt, men’s cross country coach Joe Piane and defensive back Jamoris Slaughter joined us.

Slaughter is a junior in the Irish secondary. He has played in three games for Notre Dame and has registered 10 tackles, picking up his first career interception this past Saturday against Stanford.

Holt and the women’s golf team posted a final round 297 (+9) this past Sunday to finish first at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich. Notre Dame compiled a 54-hole total of 890 (+26), five shots clear of second place Kent State. The Irish return to the links this weekend, playing host to the inaugural William K. Warren Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the Warren Golf Course.

Piane and the Notre Dame men’s and women’s cross country teams recently captured the title at the 2010 National Catholic Invitational. The Irish return to action this weekend when it plays host to the high-powered Notre Dame Invitational beginning at 2:00 p.m. (ET) Friday at the Burke Memorial Golf Course.
