Notre Dame volleyball coach Debbie Brown and senior placekicker David Ruffer will be our guests on this week's Fighting Irish Fan Chat from 1-2 p.m. (ET) Wednesday.

Fighting Irish Fan Chat - Sept. 15

Sept. 13, 2010

UND.com is debuting another of its new interactive features for the 2010-11 season, with its weekly Fighting Irish Fan Chats. Each Wednesday afternoon, UND.com will sit down for a live chat session with student-athletes, coaches and administrators making news in the world of Fighting Irish athletics. Fans are invited to join in and offer questions or comments for our guests, and if you can’t join us live, each chat will be archived so you can return to UND.com at your convenience and read what your favorite Notre Dame athletic personalities have to say on a variety of topics.

Our third Fighting Irish Fan Chat will take place from 1:00-2:00 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, Sept. 15, as Notre Dame volleyball coach Debbie Brown and senior placekicker David Ruffer will join us live at UND.com. Brown will open the chat at 1:00 p.m. (ET) and Ruffer will follow at approximately 1:30 p.m. (ET).

Brown and the Notre Dame volleyball squad stand 7-2 overall and just concluded a three-match sweep at the Pioneer Classic in Denver, Colo., last weekend. The Irish host the Notre Dame Invitational this weekend inside Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. The Irish face Delaware at 7:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday, Santa Clara at 7:00 p.m. (ET) on Saturday and Dayton at 2:00 p.m. (ET) on Sunday. This weekend’s tournament also will mark the debut of the new Purcell Pavilion center-hung video board, which is in the final stages of installation this week.

Ruffer, a walk-on kicker pulled off his interhall team at Siegfried Hall midway through the 2008 season, has made all four of his field goal attempts in 2010 and all nine in his career. The nine consecutive field goals is tied for the fourth-longest streak in school history.
