NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Notre Dame women’s basketball junior Ericka Haney returns to the court this week for the first time since leading the Irish to the NCAA national championship in March. Haney joins the 2001 BIG EAST Women’s Basketball All-Star Team on a six-game competitive tour of Germany — the 12th consecutive year the BIG EAST is sending a women’s basketball all-star squad abroad. Prior to their departure, the team, led by Syracuse head coach Marianna Freeman, attended a pre-tour training camp at Boston College June 8-10.
Haney played in all 36 games and started 35 games for the 34-2 Irish this season, averaging 11.0 points and 5.7 rebounds. The team will play a pair of games against Bonn BBC on June 12 and June 13 and will play Bensberg BBC on June 14. The German under-18 national team will take on the BIG EAST All-Stars on June 16, while a pair of games against Ludwigsburg BBC on June 17 and June 18 round out the competition. The team returns from Germany on June 20.
