NOTRE DAME, Ind. – In helping the University of Notre Dame volleyball team to their seventh and eighth consecutive wins, senior Hilary Eppink has earned a spot on the BIG EAST’s Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced on Monday.
Eppink tallied 22 kills and 10 blocks in two matches as the Irish took down Pittsburgh (3-1) on Friday and USF (3-0) on Sunday. Against the Panthers, the Westfield, Ind., native had 13 kills and seven blocks while hitting .385. In the win over the Bulls, Eppink had nine kills, three blocks and three digs while hitting .500.
Through 11 BIG EAST games Eppink is second in the league in attack percentage (.387). For the year, Eppink is third on the team in kills per set (2.11), fourth in kills (152), second in attack percentage among players with 75-plus kills (312), fourth in blocks per set (0.75) and fifth in blocks (54).
Eppink and her Irish teammates hit the road this weekend for matches against Seton Hall and Rutgers. Notre Dame battles the Pirates at 2 p.m. on Saturday in South Orange, N.J., before heading to Piscataway, N.J., for a 2 p.m. Sunday showdown with the Scarlet Knights.
