MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Making the second appearance ever by a Notre Dame swimmer at the NCAA Championships, freshman Frank Dyer competed in the prelims of the 500 free Thursday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Dyer, the BIG EAST Conference champion in the distance event, posted a 4:27.25 in the morning session. He placed 44th overall.

Tim Kegelman (’05) is the only other Irish swimmer to compete at the NCAA Championships.

Dyer will swim the 200 free Friday morning. Live results will be available at UND.com.
