NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s tennis team’s stay at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships has ended as its final competitor fell during singles play Monday at Michigan’s Varsity Tennis Center.

Freshman Caroline Dunleavy dropped a close 7-5, 7-6(3) decision to Illinois’ Emilee Duong in Monday’s singles quarterfinal match. Dunleavy is now 5-2 on the season.

Notre Dame will wrap up the fall slate with a trio of tournaments scheduled for the first weekend in November. The Irish will compete at the Arizona State Invitational (Nov. 3-5), the Western Michigan Invitational (Nov. 3-5) and, if they have players selected, the ITA National Fall Championships (Nov. 2-5).
