LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville’s Hannah Gadd won the women’s 1-meter event Saturday at Wright Natatorium to close out the BIG EAST Conference Diving Championships. Gadd, who was also named the league’s Most Outstanding Diver, tallied 329.95 points to distance herself from Jenny Chiang (301.60) and Heidi Grossman. Chiang and Grossman were second and third, respectively.
Gadd’s score was a championship record, bettering the previous mark of 309.20 set by Notre Dame’s Meghan Perry-Eaton in 2003.
Mike Zehnder of Louisville took home women’s BIG EAST Diving Coach of the Year honors.
The swimming portion of the BIG EAST Championships takes place Feb. 16-19.
