Deehan Named IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Senior goaltender Bridget Deehan has been named the IWLCA’s National Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the IWLCA announced Tuesday afternoon (April 13).

Deehan matched her career-high with her third 14-save performance of the season in last Saturday’s thriller against top-ranked North Carolina, and also added five ground balls.

The Milton, Georgia, native has racked up 40 saves in her last three outings with a combined .571 save percentage, all against top-10 ACC opponents.

This is the second IWLCA weekly honor for Deehan, who also was named the National Defensive Player of the Week after a 12-save, six ground ball outing in Notre Dame’s 13-9 victory at #9 Duke on March 28.
