NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Head coach Brian Barnes and the Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team will travel to Louisville on Saturday (Jan. 17) to challenge BIG EAST Conference opponent Louisville at 12 p.m. (ET).

No. 25 Notre Dame (3-1) split last week’s tri-meet at Northwestern. The Irish downed Toledo while falling to the host Wildcats.

Notre Dame is 4-0 all-time against Louisville, a team that is currently ranked 20th in the nation.

“This meet will be a bit different for us compared to last week,” Barnes said. “We’re back in school. We’re back into a routine of swimming and studying and the Notre Dame lifestyle. We’ll have to be a little bit sharper against Louisville than we were against Northwestern and Toledo.

“Each meet and each race is important to this team. I’m teaching the team to value the championship time of the season. It’s great for us to be competing as often as we are this time of year, because in a championship meet we’ll compete every single day and multiple times a day. We’re taking some big steps to sharpen up for the championship portion of the season.”
