Colin Falls Selected To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Notre Dame, Ind. – Senior captain Colin Falls (Park Ridge, Ill.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 19.5 points and 4.0 rebounds last week. It marks the first time in his career that the Irish guard has earned a conference weekly award.

Falls led Notre Dame to a 1-1 week it fell 71-68 at St. John’s on the road and then beat Villanova 66-63 at the Joyce Center. Falls was a combined 11-24 (.458) from the field and 8-19 (.421) from three-point range.

In the loss to St. John’s, Falls netted 16 points and grabbed five rebounds as he played 39 minutes. All five of his field goals in the game came from three-point range. Falls played all 40 minutes against Villanova and finished with a game-high 23 points (his fourth 20-plus point outing of the season) as he connected on 6-11 shots from the field (3-7 from three-point range) and was 8-9 from the free-throw line.

Falls is Notre Dame’s third-leading scorer as he is averaging 13.3 points per game. The Irish are currently 17-4 overall and 5-3 in BIG EAST play. Roy Hibbert of Georgetown was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Villanova’s Scottie copped the league’s rookie-of-the-week honor.

Joining Falls on the Weekly Honor Roll were Jerel McNeal (Marquette), Herbert Hill (Providence), Adrian Hill (Rutgers) and Joe Alexander (West Virginia).
